Hurricane Ophelia Makes a Beeline to Ireland / Published on Oct 13, 2017
Enormous consequences of abrupt climate change are coming home to roost. Here I discuss the latest strangeness in our Climate Casino, namely Hurricane Ophelia that is making a beeline towards Ireland and the UK.
Very high ocean temperatures are allowing hurricanes like Ophelia to move farther northward and maintain their strength. Slower and wavier jet streams are stalling hurricanes (Harvey), and huge atmospheric energy release are causing very large and powerful superstorms (Irma, Maria). All because of abrupt climate change greatly warming the Arctic.

Withstanding Nature’s Onslaught // Oct 11, 2017
We all lead busy lives trying to earn a living to provide for our families; put food on the table & a shelter over our heads. It is easy for us to lose sight of how our world is changing around us.
Of course that can all change in an instant. We can be wrenched from order & routine into disorder & chaos. A massive hurricane can level or flood our city. Huge, fast moving wildfires can torch thousands of homes in a few hours. How can we become more resilient in the face of this onslaught from nature? Let me explain.
