Case for Declaration of Global Climate Emergency (Part 1 of 2) // Published on Aug 14, 2016
Part 1 of 2 videos: Our planet and its life support systems have been very resilient for eons. Not any more.
We are now suffering “death by one thousand cuts”, as our biosphere is taking continuous hits. Our planets stability is spiralling out of control as we transition through highly nonlinear abrupt climate change.
Wake up and smell the roses, while they still exist.

I agree with Paul. Various places on the planet are roasting, flooding, or drying out as never before. We are way past the point of “maybe we should do something by 2025” or the even more ridiculous “by 2050”.
In British Columbia, the government is investing billions in a new bridge for cars, with planned traffic in 2045. They don’t have a clue. It’s touch and go whether we can have any civilization at all in 2025!
It’s all on auto-pilot, heading for a crash.

I post your work and have a large collection of climate science and related graphs to post on debate sites. I want to do more……

An excellent presentation that underlines the urgency with which we must act now. Having concerned myself with, and pursued, systems thinking for the past five years, I particularly appreciate that Paul presents the big picture on climate change. This is absolutely necessary to get a good understanding of what’s going on and to appreciate why we are in a ‘climate emergency’. I have put together a simple graph that may help to understand how the effects of climate change, and some of the feedback loops it generate, already have an impacts on the economy and society. However, I would like to express especially my deep appreciation for the excellent work that Paul does in explaining climate change to the wider public in a very comprehensible form.
The link to the graph I mentioned on the Insightmaker website.

The force of habit and construct of property rights at law force work against Earth as a whole.
There was a show on Native People’s network on TV last evening as time got near sunset 2C about the detailed construction of most accurate Birch bark canoe and the carpentry and way the world must have been when the boundary waters had ships of a navy and commerce open path.
There were no strong locations for padlocks of ownership tie downs in the design and continuity.
Community with Nature is strong at strength with the direction of thin vernier of Earth community.
Yet the fur trappers came and took the canoe to shovel furs for money to Europe and for fashion in a world made of money and the law of property rights at Standing while Sea of Life got replaced and the canoe, its design and construction detail needed to be reverse engineered by carpentry in an effort of heart and hope for community to see future where family is respectful to Birch tree.
So to US politics, let’s see, “Tethered in fear, the Corporate-US ties itself in knots, ensuring heat of entropy rise as Earth heats Real to End at Extinction. and two, “The reason the path isn’t clear to go id is that ‘property rights are relative to mankind and not Earth Biosphere. So defining an emergency as threat to human life and property rights is essentially System Isolation Forcing.
So therefore a frame needs to be created so the thin vernier of Birch bark is strong against falls.
